Tottenham left it late to defeat Watford and piled on the pressure on Manchester City. Spurs had seen the Cityzens lose against Newcastle a day earlier, and had the chance to close the gap on the second-placed side.
However, Javi Gracia’s men weren’t going to be easy fodder and took the lead via a Craig Cathcart header. Spurs kept on pushing for an equaliser and it came in the 80th minute with Son Heung-min lashing one into the Watford net.
Mauricio Pochettino handed a start to Son after his Asian Cup exploits but the hero for the day was Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard hasn’t had a happy time with regards to goals or games at Tottenham but he is getting more chances to impress after Harry Kane’s injury.
The former Swansea man might have scored an own goal in the 2-1 win over Fulham, but he found the back of the net in our Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Chelsea.
This wasn’t a great performance from Tottenham by any means, but once again, the players were willing to keep on pushing until the final whistle.
Tottenham now sit just two points behind City and have a real chance of catching Liverpool too come the end of the season.
Many Spurs fans were pleased with the goal from the Spaniard and shared their reaction on Twitter.
That was your best ever match for us, you ran until the last second and was involved a lot. Thank you for tonight Fernando. You made us all feel insane joy.
