Marco Reus picked up an injury in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen in midweek. The German had to be replaced at half-time after scoring, and there are concerns about his fitness ahead of the Champions League tie against Tottenham next week.
Sport1 (h/t Football.london) reports that the 29-year-old hurt his thigh, which would be a major problem for the Bundesliga leaders against Spurs.
Lucian Favre, the Dortmund manager, was asked if Reus would be fit for the weekend’s game against Hoffenheim, but could not confirm the German’s return (h/t Football.london):
“We hope, but we don’t know yet.”
Favre added that the team needs more time to evaluate Reus’ injury:
“I can’t answer that definitely. We will have to wait some days and examine him again. [Wednesday] will be too early so we will have to wait a day longer, but we hope.”
The German attacker has had problems with long-term injuries earlier, and it will be interesting to see if he recovers in time for the first-leg on 13th of February.
Reus has been in fantastic form this season with 13 goals and 6 assists from 19 Bundesliga games. Tottenham beat the Bundesliga giants at home and away a season ago in the group stage and hopefully, we can do the same this season as well.

Spurs have some injury concerns too, with Harry Kane and Dele Alli recovering from their problems. Nevertheless, we have enough quality to hurt the German giants and let’s see if we are able to beat Dortmund and progress further in the Champions League.
