Tottenham transfer news: Tottenham talks with Sampdoria over £22m transfer of Joachim Andersen
Calciomercato (h/t Sun) claims that Tottenham are in talks with Sampdoria vice-president Antonio Romei over Joachim Andersen.
The report adds that the transfer could be worth £22m with Manchester United and Inter Milan also tracking the Danish defender.
The Dane has been one of the best players in the Serie A, and the report adds that Spurs see Andersen as a replacement for Toby Alderweireld.
The report adds that Romei and club lawyer Paolo Busardo were in London on Wednesday to discuss the deal for the youngster to join Spurs.
Tottenham already have Christian Eriksen in the team, and the report adds that the defender is enticed at the prospect of playing alongside the Spurs midfielder.
The defender further claimed that he needs to move to a club which has the right plan for him, and wasn’t concerned about which team he joined (h/t Sun):
“I have to take the right steps at the right times. So I don’t really care if it’s Tottenham, Inter or Atletico Madrid.”
Spurs need to dip into the transfer window
Tottenham could do with another quality defender in the side as Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are ageing.
The Belgians are probably the best central defenders in the Premier League but Spurs do have Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth who have done well at the back.
