Tottenham transfer news: Tottenham expert believes one right-back could leave in the summer
Football.london’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold took part in a Q+A session where he replied to questions from some supporters.
The Spurs expert spoke about the stadium, our future plans and highlighted what activity takes place in the summer.
One supporter asked Gold if the club would be strengthening the right-back position in the summer, however, the correspondent believed Spurs could sell someone.
Gold claimed that Serge Aurier had been linked with a move to China but his impact hasn’t been as expected, but Kieran Trippier could be sold (h/t Football.london):
“With Kieran Trippier having had a disappointing season compared to his last one and turning 29 early next season, would there be a temptation to get big money for him before it’s too late among the powers-that-be?”
Gold added that Kyle Walker-Peters could ask for a loan deal if neither of the two senior players moves, and Spurs have been watching Max Aarons as well.
Trippier yet to find World Cup form
The English right-back had a wonderful summer with the Three Lions, but his form for Tottenham hasn’t been great this season.
Further, Trippier has made some high profile mistakes that have cost the team dearly. Aurier too hasn’t been great for Spurs this season, while Walker-Peters hasn’t been given enough chances to impress on a consistent basis.

Aarons has been exceptional for Norwich as they look to gain promotion to the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see if we make a serious move for him once the season ends.
