Latest Tottenham news: Kieran Trippier believes the team can play better despite run of wins
Tottenham have been on a bit of a winning streak recently. Spurs have won four games in a row in the Premier League, and haven’t actually played great.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have required some late goals from the likes of Son Heung-min, but the wins seem to have given us more confidence too.
Borussia Dortmund were also put to the sword in the first leg of our Champions League round of 16 clash, but Trippier believes the team can play much better.
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Express), the right-back added that the past few weeks have been “very good” for the club:
“We could have played a lot better, we all know that, but the results are the most important thing.
“We’ve had a few injuries recently and the people that have stepped in have done really well.”
Spurs missing key players throughout the season
The Champions League performance felt even better since we didn’t have Harry Kane or Dele Alli as the pair are recovering from major injuries.
Further, Jan Vertonghen had to be slotted in as the left-back as Danny Rose and Ben Davies were deemed unfit to start the game.
One player that has found his form at the right time is Son Heung-min. The South Korean seems to be scoring for fun since his return from the Asian Cup, and Trippier praised the 26-year-old for his recent performances.
The English right-back lauded the attacker especially since Son has participated in three international tournaments since the summer.
