Latest Tottenham news: Stadium opening delayed due to FA Cup scheduling
The Sun reports that Tottenham’s plans to open their new stadium have been hit with delays with April seen as the date for moving in.
The report claims that Tottenham had seen the 17 March tie against Crystal Palace as the first game at the new home. However, Palace’s win over Doncaster in the FA Cup saw the team progress to the quarter-finals of the competition, which will take place between 15 to 18 March.
This would see the game being rescheduled to be held later on, and the club also shared a statement regarding the progress of the Eagles (h/t Sun):
“Following Crystal Palace’s FA Cup fifth round win today, our Premier League clash at home against Palace scheduled for Sunday 17 March will have to be rearranged.”
The report adds that the building work has come to an end, and the next home game after the Palace tie is on 4 April against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Tottenham inching closer to stadium opening
Although Wembley has seen us put in some terrific performances, it would be incredible to play at the new stadium soon.
A lot of work has been done on the ground, which is set to be one of the best stadiums in the world, and we have already held a couple of minor events for the supporters to get accustomed to the stadium.

The wait should be worth it for the fans, and all we now need is a confirmation of when the stadium hosts its first game.
