Tottenham transfer news: Manchester United willing to pay £34m for Mauricio Pochettino despite Argentine being happy at Tottenham
The Evening Standard (h/t Sun) reports that Manchester United are willing to spend £34million if they want Mauricio Pochettino to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian has turned the club around and the Sun claims that the former striker is the leading candidate for the full-time job at Old Trafford.
However, the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and possible poor results against Chelsea and Liverpool could change the mood at Old Trafford.
The report adds that United’s top brass were impressed by Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, and any compensation fee for the Argentine would be paid in instalments.
Pochettino happy at Spurs
The Sun adds that United would face huge resistance from Tottenham and want him to lead the side to the new stadium.
The report claims that the former Southampton manager is happy at the club, and the Argentine has done a wonderful job turning this team into Champions League regulars.
Tottenham haven’t spent in two transfer windows but are in the race for the Premier League and have a great chance of making it into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Pochettino easily is one of the best managers in the world, and staying at Tottenham makes sense rather than going to United and having to start from scratch.
