Tottenham transfer news: Christian Eriksen’s agent claims star only wants to concentrate on football

Christian Eriksen is yet to sign a new deal with Tottenham, and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, according to the Spanish media (h/t ESPN).

The Dane is one of the best players in the world and wants to only concentrate on his football, according to his agent Martin Schoots.

The agent told ESPN that he would not like to speculate on transfers at the moment:

“Christian only wants to focus himself on football.

“Besides his technical, tactical and athletic skills, also this attitude has contributed over the years to his impressive transformation from world class talent to world class player.

“At this moment I would prefer not to join the speculations about contracts and transfers.”

New deal required for Eriksen

Eriksen has been incredible for Spurs ever since he joined from Ajax and it will be interesting to see if we can finalise a new deal to keep him at the club.

Tottenham have done great work in extending the contracts of important players such as Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane in recent months, and Eriksen is another star that deserves the same.

Spurs have also not been able to agree new terms with Toby Alderweireld but recently opted to increase his current deal by another year.

Hopefully, Eriksen and the club find a solution quickly and we can keep the Dane at Tottenham for many years to come.

It would be difficult to find a quality replacement for the Dane unless we are ready to break the bank and spend big in the transfer window.
