Latest Tottenham news: Twitter reacts as Tottenham lose to Burnley 2-1
Tottenham had the chance to close in on Manchester City and Liverpool but blew their opportunity with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Burnley.
City don’t play this weekend due to the Carabao Cup final while Liverpool face Manchester United on Sunday.
Spurs even had a boost before the game as Harry Kane started for the side since the injury to Manchester United more than a month ago.
The first half saw Spurs have the majority of the possession but both sides traded blows without causing major problems to either keeper.
Second half goals change the game
Things changed in the second half as Chris Wood opened the scoring from a corner. The Burnley star rose well to head the ball past Hugo Lloris in the 57th minute.
Tottenham didn’t waste time in getting back level with Harry Kane and Danny Rose combining well. The English defender saw Kane make a run in the opposition half and hurled a long thrown in.
The England captain controlled well before slotting past the Burnley keeper. However, Burnley had one more trick up their sleeve as Ashley
Barnes got on the end of a shot/cross in the 83rd minute to break Tottenham hearts.
Spurs now remain five points behind Liverpool and City, and many fans were not pleased with the result.
Why we are playing completely different if Kane is on the field? Yes, he scored and played well but he makes us so predictable. And 3-5-2 is just shit. No pace, no dribblings – just 100 crosses each game.

To be fair, we deserved to lose. We spoke too much of a title challenge, so you automatically knew the squad would find a way to lose this one.
