Latest Tottenham news: Mauricio Pochettino could be hit with a touchline ban after Mike Dean altercation
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was unhappy after the 2-1 defeat to Burnley on Saturday.
The Argentine was seen having a go at referee Mike Dean after the game and later said he would possibly apologise to the Premier League referee.
However, the Mirror reports that the Spurs manager could be hit with a touchline ban after the angry confrontation.
Dean is expected to include this altercation in his report to the FA and the football body is likely to charge the Argentine for misconduct, according to the Mirror.
Not just Pochettino in hot water
The report claims that Pochettino was unhappy with the corner that led to the first goal of the game. The manager was also not pleased with how Dean was handling some of the tackles in the game, especially one from Phil Bardsley on Danny Rose that only got him a yellow card.
Along with the Argentine, Jesus Perez is also expected to be charged as the Spurs coach also had a go at the referee after the game.
Pochettino also claimed that he would accept any punishment handed down by the FA (h/t Mirror):
“I think I will accept everything that happened.
“Hopefully it is not going further.”
What would have hurt the boss more is the fact we could not close down the gap to the top two. Liverpool and Manchester City would have been under immense pressure had we won the game, and frankly we had the quality to overcome Burnley.

Spurs also started Harry Kane for the first time since his injury against Manchester United. The Englishman scored in the second half but it was not enough to even get us a point from Turf Moor.
