Latest Tottenham news: Harry Kane certain Tottenham will bounce back after Burnley defeat
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is confident the team will return to winning ways after their surprising 2-1 loss to Burnley at the weekend.
Spurs had the chance to close in on the top two in the Premier League but were handed a loss by Sean Dyche’s men.
Kane returned to the starting XI after missing seven games due to an ankle injury. The Englishman even scored the goal for Spurs but claimed this was an opportunity lost (h/t Sky Sports):
“Obviously it was a big chance for us to get the three points and get that little bit closer. It’s a shame because, when we needed to find another gear, we didn’t have it in the locker.”
The England captain added that the team has to prepare for some tough games coming in the next weeks.
Big tests for Spurs ahead
Our next three games are Chelsea, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund and Kane lamented that it would have been great if they picked up the Burnley before facing the trio.
However, the Englishman was certain Spurs would do well as they hit the final stretch of the season:
“We don’t always want to be having to react from a poor result. But we’ll dust it off. We’ve still got a lot to play for.
“People will probably say now it’s a two-horse race but that’s not our problem. All we can do is take care of ourselves. Today was disappointing but we’ll look to bounce back as quickly as possible.”
Kane added that the team is still in the hunt for the Premier League and have done well in the Champions League.
