Tottenham transfer news: Nicolas Pepe will be sold according to Lille director

Nicolas Pepe has been one of the stars in the current Ligue 1 campaign. The Ivorian winger has scored 16 times and provided eight assists in 26 league games for Lille.

Les Dogues lie second in the league behind PSG and seem set to make it to the Champions League next season.

The winger is a target for Tottenham (h/t Sky Sports) and the French club’s director Luis Campos has claimed the right bid could see Pepe leave.

Speaking to Telefoot (h/t Sky Sports), the director lamented the monetary aspect of the club too:

“We are not a rich club.

“It means that if a really good proposal comes in for Pepe, we have to sell him.”

The report adds that Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping tabs on the Ivorian winger.

A player with immense potential

Pepe is only 23 and has the potential to develop into a world-class star. The right-winger would be a decent addition to the Tottenham side given Mauricio Pochettino’s penchant of working with young talents.

Spurs don’t have many quality wingers in the team and have been burnt by one who joined from France too.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou’s move from Marseille didn’t work out and the 24-year-old is out on loan at Monaco for the rest of the season.

It will be interesting to see what our moves are in the summer window. Spurs didn’t freshen up the squad in the last two windows and sold Mousa Dembele in January.

We could do with another quality goal scorer in the side and take the pressure off Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Hopefully, we get the right players in the summer and strengthen the side.
