Latest Tottenham news: Tottenham manager isn’t certain when Dele Alli could return

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is unsure when Dele Alli could return to the side and claimed Spurs need to assess him daily.

The English midfielder injured his hamstring in the win over Fulham and has missed our last seven games.

Spurs have dealt well without Alli in the side and the only blip in the league has been the Burnley loss.

Pochettino was speaking to the media and wasn’t certain the Englishman could play next week too (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com):

“We need to assess him day by day.

“He’s doing well but we cannot say he’s going to be available for this weekend or for next week against Borussia Dortmund (Tuesday 5 March) or Southampton (Saturday 9 March).”

The Argentine concluded by claiming that the team hoped Alli could be back as soon as possible.

Spurs have missed the Englishman’s presence, and the earlier he returns, the better it would be for our attack.

The return of Harry Kane

There was some good news for Tottenham in the 2-1 loss to Burnley with Harry Kane returning from his ankle injury.

The England captain didn’t play since the loss to Manchester United in the league, and he marked his return with a quality goal.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to spur us on towards an important win. Tottenham lie six points behind leaders Liverpool and five points behind second-placed Manchester City in the table.

Hopefully, we don’t suffer further serious injuries and Pochettino has a fit team to select for the remainder of the campaign.
