Tottenham transfer news: Several Tottenham fans open to swapping Christian Eriksen for Gareth Bale
Real Madrid are interested in signing Christian Eriksen and are prepared to send Gareth Bale the other way, according to the Express.
The Welsh attacker has found form hard to come by this season. The report claims that Bale was seen as the player to fill Cristiano Ronaldo’s void at Madrid, but the former Tottenham star has failed to do that.
The report adds that Real would also add £50million in the deal to sign Eriksen. The Danish midfielder is still one of the best players in the league despite suffering a few injuries this season.
Eriksen’s contract issues
The midfielder is out of contract at the end of next season, and Tottenham have not been able to finalise a new deal with the 26-year-old so far.
Bale left Spurs to join Madrid in 2013 and has picked up several trophies there. However, he just doesn’t seem to feel at home in Spain, especially when compared to his fantastic time in London.
Although the Welsh winger is 29, many Tottenham fans still have a soft corner for him. Losing Eriksen would be a blow but several fans were open to seeing Bale return from Spain.
Eriksen is so poor at present i would take Bale + 50m and buy Grealish or Maddison

If we was offered 50 Mill + Bale for Eriksen right now, I would take it in a heartbeat. It seems as if his head is in Madrid already

I say deal. Eriksen too inconsistent. The £50m will find the player we need while gaining Bale who has that something extra.

The way Eriksen been playing lately, doesn’t look like he wants to be here and bale isn’t wanted at Madrid

I’ll take that- based on the fact Eriksen performs only 5/10 games. Counter that with Bales injury record and it’s about level pegging

As much as I would hate to lose Eriksen, if we could sell him for £80-100m (to RM if they come in for him), or potentially get Bale + cash in return. As well as selling a few other passengers in the squad, then reinvest correctly. We *could* be in a better position next season.

Has Eriksen checked out? Doesn’t look interested… Would swap him for Bale in an instant

Absolute no-brainer. Eriksen has been mediocre at best and often just ineffective. Bale is in a different class. #COYS https://t.co/20UugEQve4

Haha Madrid will give us £50m plus Bale for Eriksen. 😂😂😂
I’d give £50m and Eriksen for Bale. No contest. https://t.co/9ssDtzmsrD— Bob (@heisyouknow_) March 4, 2019
