Tottenham transfer news: Gareth Bale’s agent shuts down talks of player leaving Madrid
Gareth Bale’s agent has poured water on any suggestions of the Welshman joining Tottenham or Manchester United.
The winger has struggled to perform this season at Real Madrid and Wales Online reports that the 29-year-old was booed by the fans lately.
Jonathan Barnett claimed that Bale is still wanted by several clubs as he spoke to talkSport (h/t Wales Online):
“If you give him a run for 90 minutes, that man will turn around the fortunes of any club in the world.
“We still have clubs looking at him and wanting him.”
The agent was then asked if there was an opportunity for Bale to join United or Tottenham or even leaving Madrid, and said: “No”.
The Welsh winger has scored 13 times in all competitions under Santiago Solari, but Madrid’s season hasn’t gone all that well.
Barnett backing Bale to perform
Bale’s agent believed the Welshman would be talked about at the club for years to come due to his achievements.
He also took on the fans who criticised Bale and called their behaviour “disgusting”, before adding that things like this don’t affect him.
“I’m not saying that it affects him. I’m talking for myself not for Gareth. I watch what Gareth has achieved and I see how he loves Real Madrid.”
Barnett added that Bale loves Madrid before adding that there could be a time where he has had enough.
Bale could be a great signing for Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see how things develop with the Welshman in the coming months.
The Welshman left in 2013 and has picked up several trophies at Madrid, but it has never been a great relationship between the fans and the player.
