Latest Tottenham news: Dele Alli returns to training after hamstring injury
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has returned to training for the first time since injuring his hamstring in January.
The last game Alli played was the win over Fulham, but the Englishman had to be replaced after picking up an injury.
Sky Sports claims the Englishman is in line to face Southampton at the weekend, but the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund comes a little early.
The report adds that Kieran Trippier has also not travelled with the side to Germany. Tottenham hold a 3-0 advantage after the first leg and should be favourites to progress into the next round of the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino also spoke about Alli’s chances of playing at the weekend (h/t Sky Sports):
“I think Dele is close, we will see if it is possible for him to be involved on Saturday against Southampton.”
Big boost for Tottenham
Harry Kane returned to the team recently after injuring his ankle, and Alli returning would be a huge boost for Spurs.
The Englishman is one of our best players and would provide us with an additional push as we look to seal a top-four place.
Tottenham haven’t been in great form domestically in recent weeks and came out with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

Playing Southampton away at the weekend won’t be easy, but with Alli back in the reckoning, we should have a great chance of picking up the three points at St. Mary’s.
