Tottenham transfer news: Matthias Ginter’s Monchengladbach hammered 5-1 by Bayern Munich

Tottenham are interested in 25-year-old defender Matthias Ginter but face competition from other Premier League sides (h/t Sky Sports).

The German won the World Cup in 2014 and has been impressive for the Bundesliga side this season, playing 19 league games and scoring one goal.

The defender even played for the national team thrice this season. However, things haven’t gone well in recent weeks.

Monchengladbach have been on a winless streak and were thrashed by Bayern Munich recently.

Monchengladbach leaking goals for fun

Ginter can develop into a world-class defender under the right manager, and Mauricio Pochettino is possibly the best at working with young talents.

The Argentine has worked wonders during his spell at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see how things progress with Ginter.

The German spoke after the thrashing from the Bavarians and claimed they persevered all the points (h/t Mirror):

“We made too many mistakes and made it too easy for Bayern,” Ginter told his club’s official website. “They created a lot of chances after they went 3-1 up and deserved to win in the end.”

Monchengladbach have conceded 12 goals from four games, and have lost three of them. They are still in a strong position in the Bundesliga three points ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt, who are fifth.

Tottenham have to make some signings in the summer after two barren transfer windows, and hopefully, we get the right players to develop the side.
