Latest Tottenham news: Tottenham hold incredible record against Borussia Dortmund

Tottenham progressed into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a great 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs came into the second leg with a healthy 3-0 lead and knew the home side would batter them early on.

Hugo Lloris did his bit of keeping the team in the running with some crucial saves. The Frenchman was helped by the defenders as they blocked and tackled everything that Dortmund threw at them.

Dortmund are one of the toughest sides to face in European competitions, however, Tottenham hold a 100% record against them in the Champions League, which no other team can match.

Progress made by Tottenham

The win over the two legs also erases memories of the knockout rounds from last season where we were dumped out of the competition from Juventus.

This was the first time we made it this far since the 2010-11 campaign where we were knocked out by Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants were surprisingly defeated on aggregate by Ajax, and it will be interesting to see which other clubs progress into the next round.

The performance from Spurs over the two legs proves that Mauricio Pochettino’s men have some steel in them, and this win was needed after three poor Premier League games.

Hopefully, Spurs can build on this result and ensure a top-four finish come the end of the season. Our next game is against Southampton at the weekend, and the Saints won’t be easy to play away from home.
