Latest Tottenham news: Some Spurs fans happy that Kieran Trippier is a doubt against Southampton
Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier is a major doubt for the clash against Southampton. The English defender did not travel with the team to Germany and is still undergoing treatment over a gluteal muscle strain.
Trippier hasn’t hit the heights from the World Cup and has made several mistakes this season. The latest one was the own goal against Chelsea in a 2-0 loss.
Fans prefer others at the right-back position
It has been a major surprise as to how Trippier’s form has fallen after an incredible World Cup, and hopefully, we come out with a win against the Saints.
Spurs have Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters who can play in that position, and it seems the fans want either of them to start against Southampton.

Southampton are fighting for their Premier League survival and won’t be easy fodder, however, we should have a lot of confidence going into this game.
Beating Dortmund in Germany counts for a lot and Harry Kane is in great scoring form after his return from injury.
Mauricio Pochettino won’t be on the touchline and we could even see Dele Alli pick up some minutes as the Englishman returns from injury.

Tottenham still have a fight on their hands for a top four spot, and a win against the Saints will allow us some breathing room against the chasers.
