Latest Tottenham news: Fans excited as Spurs announce new stadium tests events and first game

Tottenham have announced the two test events that the new stadium is to host before we attain a safety certificate.

Successfully holding the two events will then allow us to host our first game at the new ground.

A release from the club added that the first test event would be on 24 March which is the Spurs vs Southampton U18 Premier League match.

The second test event would feature our legends in action on 30 March. The seating capacity for the first event will be 30,000 and the second event would be 45,000.

Daniel Levy was delighted with the progress regarding the stadium and thanked the fans for their support.

First game at the new stadium

The FA Cup will have a huge bearing on who our first visitors would be at the new ground. The release adds that should Brighton win their FA Cup quarter-final tie on 17 March, Spurs would play Crystal Palace on 3 April.

However, should the Seagulls lose their quarter-final, we play them on 6/7 April, depending on Champions League scheduling and face Palace on 23/24 April.

This certainly will be great news for the fans who have waited patiently for the new stadium to be completed.

Hopefully, things go off without any problems in the two events and we can quickly move into the new ground.

Several Tottenham fans were excited at the news and shared their reactions on Twitter.
