Tottenham transfer news: Tottenham enter race to sign Federico Chiesa but have to pay £70m
The Sun reports that Tottenham are interested in Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa and would have to spend £70m to sign the 21-year-old.
Chiesa is one of the rising stars in the Italian league and the report adds that the forward was also looking at a move to the Premier League, but to Chelsea.
However, Tottenham’s chances of landing the forward have risen given Chelsea’s transfer ban and the uncertainty regarding the future of Maurizio Sarri (h/t Sun).
The 21-year-old Chiesa has been great for La Viola this season contributing with 11 goals and three assists in all competitions.
The youngster is also a target for Juventus and both the Milan giants, according to the Sun.
Tottenham looking for more attacking firepower
The Italian international can play anywhere in the attack and in the midfield too. The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is looking for another forward and Daniel Levy could make a move in the summer to keep the Argentine happy.
Spurs haven’t signed players for two transfer windows, and the lack of fresh faces has hurt us in recent weeks. We have lost three out of four Premier League games and our top four chances have been hurt as well.

The report claims that we are serious about Chiesa, thanks to his sell-on value. However, we may have to sell players before we make a move for the 21-year-old.
