Tottenham transfer news: Arsenal join race for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals
The Express reports that Arsenal are also interested in Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals.
The Spaniard has been linked with Tottenham too, and the report claims that Spurs are desperate for midfield reinforcements after selling Mousa Dembele in the winter window.
The report claims that Unai Emery has kept an eye on the 23-year-old but will probably need to sell off Mesut Ozil before making a move for Fornals. That could open the door for Spurs, who have had their own problems this season.
Tottenham have been in poor form recently with just one point from four Premier League games.
Our cushion in third place has been cut down to just one point with Arsenal breathing down our necks.
Fornals shining bright in the Europa League
The 23-year-old has been great for Villarreal with three goals and three assists in the Europa League.
Fornals hasn’t done extremely well in La Liga with just one goal and two assists, and it will be interesting to see if we press on with our interest in the 23-year-old.
The Spaniard can play in several positions in midfield and can also do a job just behind the striker.
Spurs could do with more creativity in the team and Fornals has the potential to develop into a world class footballer.
