Tottenham transfer news: Eriksen’s agent isn’t opening up about player’s future
Christian Eriksen’s agent isn’t saying much about the Tottenham star’s possible move to Real Madrid.
The Mirror reports that Zinedine Zidane is interested in the 27-year-old, and the Dane only has 12 months remaining on his contract this summer.
The report adds that Real are looking at a major overhaul under Zidane, and that Spurs are trying to agree on a new deal with Eriksen.
However, the club could sell the Dane in the summer rather than risk losing him on a free, according to the Mirror.
Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots didn’t say much about his client’s future and instead claimed the player is concentrating on his football.
Speaking to Ekstra Bladet (h/t Mirror), the agent claimed that Eriksen is a world class talent and only football was on his mind:
“I don’t want to add to the speculation around Christian’s contract and football future. Christian is only focusing on the football.
“He has evolved from a world class talent into a world class player.”
Dane not doing enough for Spurs
The midfielder hasn’t been great for Tottenham this season, and the report claims that Real see him as a replacement to Luka Modric.
The La Liga giants have raided Spurs earlier too for Gareth Bale and Modric, and it will be interesting to see if we can hold onto Eriksen.
The midfielder is one of the best in the Premier League and it will be difficult to replace him. However, losing him on a free would certainly be a bitter pill to swallow.
Several Tottenham fans were resigned to losing the Dane, and shared their reactions where they even questioned his motivation over the past few months.
I may be in the minority here, but Eriksen is going missing in terms of effectiveness, so often this past 6 months, that to replace him may be the way forward anyhow.
I know he probably racks up the furthest covered per match, which is why i said effectiveness.— Spiggy (@SpiggyTope) March 13, 2019
Christian Eriksen 100%, heads been turned. Needs to go asap. Then we can use the money to get someone like Isco to replace him, but we know we’ll get someone like Ibrahim Afellay instead 🙄.

Eriksen hasn’t played well for 6 months+. Stalled on contract talks, heads been turned and he’s been diabolical but constantly plays cause ‘we can’t improve on our first eleven’. And who cares how far he runs? He’s not a defensive midfielder.
