Latest Tottenham news: Spurs share list of players for legends game

Tottenham have shared the first list of former players that will be part of the legends team to face Inter Milan at the new stadium.

The second test event in our new home is scheduled on 30 March and is against Inter Forever. Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov, Darren Anderson and Rafael van der Vaart are some of the stars that will headline the event, according to the release.

The others named are Stephen Carr, David Howells, Allan Nielsen and keeper Erik Thorstvedt. The release added that the team would be managed by club legend Gary Mabbutt.

An exciting time for all

Mabbutt shared his thoughts regarding the game and said that a star-studded team was being created as Spurs were returning home.

Keane also spoke about returning to Spurs and could not wait to play at the new ground (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com):

“It’s going to be absolutely unbelievable to play inside it as one of the first players ever to do so. The stadium is incredible and I can’t wait to get out there and play in it.”

Keane and Mabbutt’s thoughts were echoed by Anderton, who claimed that the stadium is special and that he could not wait to experience the atmosphere at the new ground with the fans.

This is an exciting time for all Spurs fans too as they have waited patiently for the new stadium to be opened.

The original date was September last year, however, we seem set to play a few games at our new home.

Getting acclimatised to the new stadium is important for the team but some fans were already thinking of the other stars that could turn up for this legends game.
