Tottenham transfer news: Spurs fans want Tanguy Ndombele after Lyon’s Champions League elimination
Lyon’s Champions League dreams came to a crushing end as Barcelona ran riot at the Nou Camp.
The two teams played a goalless draw in the first leg, and there was a chance for Lyon to make it to the quarter-finals.
The French side knew an away goal would make things tricky but Barcelona got off to a flyer with goals from Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho.
Lucas Tousart ruffled some feathers in the second half with a goal for Lyon, but that was as good as it got for them.
Messi, Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele scored the other goals as Barcelona ran out 5-1 winners.
Ndombele shines despite defeat
Tanguy Ndombele might not have been on the winning side, but the Lyon midfielder was one of the more impressive performers from the French club over the two legs.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from Lyon, and the club president recently claimed that he is open to selling one or two players in the summer.
Tottenham could do with the Frenchman in the side, but there are other clubs keeping tabs on him too.
The 22-year-old has been quality for Lyon since last season and should develop into a world class player in the coming years.
Although Spurs haven’t been active in the transfer windows recently, many fans want the team to sign Ndombele quickly.
@SpursOfficial
Now he’s out of the UCL, tell Steve Hitchin to get on the blower and pay what ever it costs to get
Tanguy Ndombele to spurs …

Well done Liverpool. Gone to Bayern and got the job done. 👏
Messi, what a neat player, but Lyon played their part. #Ndombele should be a target for Spurs— Spursview (@Vocalspurs) March 13, 2019
Ndombele running the midfield at the Camp Nou. No chance he’ll be at Lyon next season

I’d be more then happy for spurs to spend their whole summer budget on ndombele
