Tottenham transfer news: Lyon boss open to selling top players in the summer
Tottenham have been handed a boost in their chase for Tanguy Ndombele.
The midfielder has been one of the stars for Lyon over the past season and a half, and the Sun reports that Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested in him.
The 22-year-old French international has a price tag of £70m (h/t Sun) as Lyon try to keep hold of him.
However, the club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated the team could sell some of their stars.
Speaking to FootMercato (h/t Sun), the president suggested they are in a great position too:
“We want to win titles in France now, we want to go as high as possible in the hierarchy of European clubs so we must be in good economic health, but also have talent.
“We will only let go this summer one or maybe two players.”
Spurs need a replacement for Dembele
Tottenham didn’t sign any players in the last two transfer windows but sold Mousa Dembele to Chinese club Guangzhou R&F.
Ndombele would be a quality addition to the team and has the potential to get even better under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, fighting the likes of City and United for the midfielder would not be easy. The pair have deeper pockets than we do but we are on the rise under the manager.

Tottenham need to secure Champions League football as that will help attract more players, and hopefully, we get back to winning ways against Liverpool at the end of the month.
