Tottenham transfer news: AC Milan to rival Tottenham for Joachim Andersen signing

AC Milan are going to rival Tottenham and Manchester United for the signing of Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, according to Calciomercato (h/t Sun).

The Danish defender has been one of the stars for Sampdoria and is being tipped for a big move, according to the report.

The 22-year-old centre-back is also being watched by Milan’s rivals, Inter Milan, with the two Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on Andersen.

The Sun claims that United are also looking for a quality centre-back, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will allow the club’s defenders to prove their worth before making a decision in the summer.

Tottenham need another quality defender in

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen aren’t getting any younger and the pair haven’t signed new deals at Spurs too.

Tottenham need to bring a quality defender in and Andersen seems to fit the bill regarding a signing at the club.

The Dane has the potential to get better and Mauricio Pochettino has worked well with young players in the past.

It would be a surprise if we can beat United when it comes to bidding for a player, but the progress of young players at Tottenham could be a factor for Anderson.

Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth have regularly played for the first-team, and the pair are getting better with time on the pitch.

Andersen will have many suitors for him in the summer, and it will be interesting to see where he lands up.
