Tottenham transfer news: Spurs fans unsure about Ayoze Perez at club
Newcastle have turned things around under Rafael Benitez recently with Ayoze Perez at the centre of it all.
The 26-year-old scored a brace and provided an assist in the 3-2 win over Everton, and recently spoke about his future.
The Chronicle Live reports that Real Sociedad and Real Betis are interested in the forward while Tottenham and Manchester United have also kept tabs on the Spaniard.
Speaking to Marca, Perez thanked Newcastle for all that they have done but harbours dreams of playing in La Liga (h/t Chronicle Live):
“Yes. I am very grateful to Newcastle – I have grown and matured here, but it is obvious that some day I would like to come back and play in La Liga.”
The attacker added that he doesn’t know what the future holds but hopes for something good.
Perez not the answer for Tottenham?
Tottenham haven’t done much in two transfer windows but have to strengthen the side in the summer.
We have suffered with almost every player picking up an injury, and it will be interesting to see what we do at the end of the season.
Perez could be a decent addition to the side, however, his record in front of goal isn’t the greatest.
The forward is inconsistent in front of goal too and the best option for Tottenham would be to play him behind Harry Kane.
However, many Tottenham fans were convinced about the Spanish star doing well for Spurs, and wanted someone better than Perez.
Boring. One good game and we’re linked with him. Shock.
