Latest Tottenham news: Fans ready for Champions League clash against Manchester City
There was always a chance of two English teams meeting in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after four qualified from the last 16.
Tottenham overcame Borussia Dortmund while Manchester City and Liverpool also defeated German opposition.
Manchester United beat Paris Saint-Germain on away goals, and the draw for the quarter-finals pitted us against an English side.
Tottenham play Manchester City over the two legs and should we progress into the next round, we would face the winners between Ajax and Juventus.
Mixed results for English sides
Manchester United got the toughest draw as they face Barcelona while Liverpool got a favourable draw as they play Porto over the two legs.
Spurs looked great against Dortmund, but City demolished Schalke 7-0 at home. Add to that, the Cityzens defeated us in the only meeting of the season so far.
Tottenham are in a fight to secure their top-four place and we need to keep the likes of United, Arsenal and Chelsea at bay.
City have been incredible since the turn of the year and now lead the Premier League by one point over Liverpool.
The two games against City will be a real test but we can beat them if we play to our best. However, many fans weren’t convinced that we could get the better of City and were preparing for the worst.
