Latest Tottenham news: Fans excited as club confirms first game in new stadium
Tottenham finally confirmed the first visitors at the new stadium after several delays since the start of the season.
Crystal Palace will be the first team to face us at the new ground on 3 April, and this decision was taken after Brighton’s win over Millwall in the FA Cup.
This should come as a huge boost to the team and the supporters as we can finally end calling Wembley our home.
Champions Leach beckons for Spurs
The release from the club added that we would also play Manchester City at our new home. Spurs face the Cityzens over two legs in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The first leg would be played at home on 9 April, and it will be interesting to see how both teams deal with the new ground.
Spurs cannot afford to take time bedding into the new home, and hopefully, we come out all guns blazing against Palace in our first game.
White Hart Lane had an excellent atmosphere and felt like home for Tottenham. Now it is time for the fans and the players to start a new and exciting journey in one of the best stadiums in the world.
Many fans were excited at the news of the new stadium opening, and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.
