Latest Tottenham news: Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t feel like he “lost” regarding Real Madrid job

Mauricio Pochettino has had his say regarding him being linked with the Real Madrid job (h/t Football.london).

The Argentine saw Santiago Solari being replaced by Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman had left Real at the start of the season but made a quick return to the struggling giants.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football.london), the manager didn’t seem upset at losing the job and added that he was happy sticking with Spurs:

“I do not have the feeling of having lost the Madrid train.

“I do not look long term, I’m happy and I still have four years of contract.”

The Argentine further claimed that rumours are part of the business and most of them weren’t true:

“There are always rumours, not only with me but with other colleagues, but 90 per cent are false.”

Pochettino staying is best for Tottenham

The former Southampton manager is easily one of the best in the world and losing him would have been a huge blow to Spurs.

Zidane taking over at Real was great news for Spurs as Pochettino can concentrate on the job ahead.

The Argentine has worked wonders on a limited budget, and it will be interesting to see how much we will spend in the summer after Daniel Levy confirmed our ability to act in the transfer window.

Tottenham lie third in the Premier League and have a tough quarter-final clash against Manchester City in the Champions League too.
