Tottenham transfer news: Youri Tielemans unsure about future despite joining Leicester City

Leicester City signed Youri Tielemans from Monaco on loan in the winter window. The 21-year-old Belgian was linked with Tottenham too (h/t Telegraph) but ended up at the King Power Stadium.

The youngster has done a decent job since Brendan Rodgers replaced Claude Puel. The 21-year-old has one goal and two assists from six games, and the Belgian spoke about the quality of the league (h/t Sky Sports):

“I don’t have to tell you anything about it the Premier League, but the atmosphere is really nice and the type of play is really good, I find it really good.”

Despite his good start with Leicester, Tielemans wasn’t going to commit to the Foxes and was willing to wait till the end of the season:

“As I said before, we will see.

“I can’t see the future, so we will see at the end of the season, for now I’m enjoying Leicester.”

A great fit for Tottenham

Tielemans would be a quality signing for Spurs and fits into the bill of being young and having loads of potential.

Tottenham didn’t spend in the winter window and sold Mousa Dembele to Guangzhou R&F. That opens up a position in the squad and Mauricio Pochettino should sign a replacement in the summer.

Spurs currently have Christian Eriksen, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama who can play in that role, and this season, we have seen Oliver Skipp play a few games too.

However, Wanyama has had his troubles with injuries while Eriksen is out of contract at the end of the next season.
