Spurs transfer news: Tottenham target Nathan Ake interests Napoli
The Daily Star claims that Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in 24-year-old defender Nathan Ake.
The report adds that Napoli are also keeping tabs on the defender, but the Dutch centre-back will reject a return to Stamford Bridge.
Napoli see the defender as a replacement for Raul Albiol, and the report claims that Eddie Howe will find it difficult to keep hold of the rising star after the interest from several clubs.
Chelsea have an option to re-sign the player
The Mirror (h/t Daily Star) reports that Chelsea included a £40m buy-back clause in Ake’s contract when he signed with Bournemouth.
The defender isn’t keen on a return to Stamford Bridge as playing time could be limited at the club, according to the report.
The youngster’s rise has been noted at the international level too as he played a couple of games for the Dutch side in their UEFA Nations League games.
Ake would be a quality defender for Spurs, given his Premier League experience and potential to improve under a manager like Mauricio Pochettino.
The youngster has played 31 Premier League games this season and has even come up with three goals.
Our defence could use more competition for the likes of Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez, as the young pair need to be pushed a little more.
