Spurs opinion: Tottenham should go all out for David Brooks after fine season with Bournemouth
David Brooks made the jump to the Premier League this season as Bournemouth signed the Welsh youngster from Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Manchester City and was watched by Tottenham scouts, according to the Mirror.
The Mirror adds that Tottenham are still interested in the attacker and are preparing a bid for a move in the summer window.
The report adds that Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Brooks, but Tottenham need to do all they can to sign the former City youth player.
Brooks impressive in debut season
Bournemouth have been on a rise ever since Eddie Howe brought them to the Premier League. The Cherries have always played good football, and the manager has handed opportunities to young players.
Brooks has taken that chance and is doing pretty well in his first Premier League season. The youngster has found the back of the net six times and has recorded four assists too.
The Wales star has also played for the national team in the Nations League and he could be a low-risk signing for Mauricio Pochettino.
The 21-year-old can play out wide or as an attacking midfielder while gives Pochettino ample scope to fit him into the Tottenham side.
Brooks also falls into that category of player that Pochettino can develop, similar to what he has done with Dele Alli, Harry Winks, Harry Kane and several others during his time with Southampton.
The youngster has the potential to get even better under the right manager, and Poch could enhance Brooks’ talent should he end up at Spurs.
The Mirror adds that Tottenham could be preparing a £50million bid for the Welsh attacker in the summer, and while that seems a little excessive, Brooks could be a star in the making.
This could be perfect for Bournemouth too as they signed Brooks for £11.5m (h/t Mirror) and would make a great profit after just one season for the Welsh star at the club.
Tottenham need options in their attack too and were stretched when Dele Alli and Harry Kane were out with injury recently.
