Latest Spurs news: Eric Dier injured in 5-0 win over Czech Republic

Tottenham star Eric Dier has been ruled out of Monday’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro after picking up an injury in the 5-0 win over the Czech Republic.

Raheem Sterling was the star player in the win after scoring a hat-trick, with Harry Kane also finding the back of the net.

However, there will be some concern regarding Dier, who picked up the initial problem after a tackle by Tomas Soucek. Dier had to be replaced later in the first half, with Ross Barkley getting the nod.

The BBC reports that the midfielder has a muscular problem and is set to return to his club for further treatment.

A tough season for Dier on the injury front

The Englishman has had his problems this season, as he missed a chunk after undergoing appendix surgery earlier in the year.

Dier also missed several games in February due to a problem and only returned in our 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

His last start was the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton and hopefully, this problem isn’t serious enough to keep him out for a while.

Tottenham need all their players to be fit for the remainder of the campaign. We are involved in a battle for the top four places and our next game isn’t easy. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are just one point above Arsenal, who lie fourth in the standings.
