Latest Spurs news: Tottenham fans celebrate as U18s defeat Southampton U18s in new stadium
This was a new dawn for Tottenham as the U18 team defeated Southampton 3-1 in the first game at the new stadium.
There was a lot of excitement in what was supposed to be a test event as many Spurs fans got their first taste of the new ground.
The fans were spread all across the ground and the first ever goal scored at the new ground was from J’Neil Bennett, who scored past the Saints keeper to make it 1-0 in the 11th minute.
The youngster cut inside from the left and unleashed a curling shot that crept into the far post.
Harvey White made it 2-0 after 10 minutes from the spot. Dilan Markanday was fouled in the box and we enjoyed a comfortable lead.

The gaffer was also present at the stadium and shared some words during the half-time break.

Southampton got one goal back from Kornelius Hansen before Markanday made it 3-1 in our favour in the 77th minute.
That is how the game ended and it was a great start to our new stadium. The next test event is against Inter Forever as Spurs Legends face them next weekend, and then we prepare for Crystal Palace’s visit on 3 April.
Many Tottenham fans were extremely happy with the performance, and more importantly, our life at the new stadium.
