Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Diogo Jota

The Express claims that Tottenham are keeping an eye on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese winger has been one of the impressive players for the newly promoted side this season. Jota has seven goals and one assist from all competitions in this campaign.

The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino believes Jota could be the man to give Spurs cover for Harry Kane.

However, the club will find it tough negotiating with Wolves, who have been fantastic since their return to the top flight.

Jota has been one of them and joined the club permanently from Atletico Madrid in January 2018 for £12.6m (h/t Express).

A bright spark in the team

Jota has the ability to play out wide or as the central striker, and it will be interesting to see how well he finishes the season.

The attacker has been in great form recently with five goals and three assists in his last nine games but had a barren early on.

Tottenham haven’t made a signing in two transfer windows but need to add a few attacking options in the team.

We are extremely reliant on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min and were stretched at the start of the year.

Kane picked up an ankle injury, Son was away on international duty and Dele Alli too was out with a hamstring problem.
