Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico
Tottenham are considering bidding £15million for Ajax’s left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to the Sun.
The Argentine defender has been impressive for the Dutch giants this season with several top displays in the Champions League too.
The report adds that the 26-year-old has been scouted several times by Spurs this season. The South American has five goals and three assists in all competitions for Ajax, and was one of their stars in the 4-1 win over Real Madrid in Spain.
Ajax are willing to cash in on the star defender in the summer, despite Tagliafico having a couple of years left on his current deal (h/t Sun).
The report adds that Arsenal and Barcelona are also interested in the 26-year-old.
Big things in the offering for Tagliafico?
The Argentine joined Ajax from Independiente last season but has already established himself as one of the best left-backs in Europe.
The 26-year-old also spoke about the interest from Spurs but wanted to think about the present alone (h/t Sun):
“It’s great that they talk about me, because that means things are going well.
“But I can only focus on the present.”
Tottenham could do with more competition down the left with Ben Davies and Danny Rose not having the greatest of seasons.
Tagliafico could be a smart signing for us and it will be interesting to see our activity in the summer.
