Spurs news: Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold a doubt for Tottenham clash
Tottenham face Liverpool in the clash of the weekend and the Reds could be without one of their key men at the back.
Trent Alexander-Arnold withdrew from the international games for England with a back problem, and Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he might not be fit for the weekend.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the German said:
“Trent still feels his back. We are not 100 per cent sure, so we have to watch him. Trent wants to [be] 100 per cent, but we have to see.
“It is a strange one, it’s not an obvious injury that you can say something is broke or whatever, it’s just a bit annoying actually that he cannot feel really free.”
The German added that there could be a chance of the Englishman returning, but it depends on how he does in the training sessions.
Tottenham have their own injury concerns
Eric Dier and Serge Aurier also picked up injuries during the international break, and we need to be at our best to keep Liverpool out.
Not facing Trent would be a bit of a bonus for us given the quality of his deliveries inside the box. That will take an element out of Liverpool’s game and we should take advantage of that.
Liverpool are in the chase for the Premier League but we are also in need of points to stay third in the table.
