Spurs transfer news: Tottenham scout several young players including Sean Longstaff
David Hytner of the Guardian provided an in-depth look into Tottenham’s plans for the summer. The journalist highlighted which players we could lose in the summer and who we would be targetting.
Tottenham haven’t signed players in two windows, but Hytner claims that we will be signing players once some sales are done.
The report claims that Vincent Janssen, Michel Vorm, Fernando Llorente, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Victor Wanyama are set for exits, while there are doubts about the futures of Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
Hytner goes on to suggest that Spurs have scouted several U23 players and Sean Longstaff of Newcastle United is one of them.
Injury cuts short impressive season
Longstaff made his Premier League debut this season and did well when Newcastle defeated Manchester City. The 21-year-old even scored his first Premier League goal in a 2-0 win over Burnley, but his campaign was cut short after he was ruled out for the season with a knee ligament injury.
The midfielder has been one of the finds under Rafael Benitez at Newcastle, and being English and only 21, would be a great signing for Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has done well with English players during his time with Southampton and Spurs. Should Wanyama be sold in the summer, we would need at least two midfielders coming in too.

Mousa Dembele was sold in the winter window, and it will be interesting to see which players we seriously pursue once the season ends.
