Spurs news: Max Kruse scores a brace in Werder Bremen’s 3-1 win over Mainz
Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse is out of a contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
The 31-year-old has been in great form for the Bundesliga side this season and scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Mainz.
The German put in a Man-of-the-Match performance as he also provided an assist for the third goal of the game. This took his season’s tally up to 10 goals and 8 assists in all competitions.
Kruse missile hits the target
Kruse had also bagged a pair prior to the international break and he got back to scoring ways in the 36th minute after setting up Milot Rashica for the opener in the 3rd minute.
Rashica turned provider for Kruse’s second of the evening as Werder finished the game week in the sixth position.
Kruse was playing as an attacking midfielder in the game, just behind the two strikers and had a passing accuracy of 79%.
The 31-year-old also was involved a lot in the game and registered 94 touches, the second highest amongst all the players on the pitch.
Kruse has been in excellent form recently and OptaFranz shared an interesting stat regarding the German.

The 31-year-old still seems to have some magic left in him, and it will be interesting to see where he plays his football next season.
