Spurs news: Harry Winks set for first-team return against Crystal Palace
Tottenham have been handed a boost ahead of their game against Crystal Palace.
The first senior game to be played at the new Tottenham stadium will see the return of Harry Winks.
A release from the club quoted Mauricio Pochettino speaking during the pre-match press conference where the Argentine confirmed Winks’ availability:
“Harry will be involved, he’s back in the squad.”
The 23-year-old last played for Spurs in the 1-0 away win against Borussia Dortmund. Winks has been one of the more consistent players for Spurs this season with 37 appearances in all competitions.
Injuries pile-up for Spurs
The return of Winks will be a plus for the team but a couple of players have been added to the injury list.
Erik Lamela has a hamstring strain that he picked up on Saturday and will play no part against Palace.
Fernando Llorente is also ruled out for the clash against the Eagles. The Spaniard suffered a head injury during the final moments at Anfield, and concussion protocols mean we will be short of a striker on Wednesday.
Eric Dier and Serge Aurier are also continuing their rehabilitation from a hip issue and a hamstring strain respectively.

Tottenham need to get back to winning ways after their fourth loss in five games. The Eagles won’t be easy opposition, however, we should have a spring in our step playing in our new home.
