Spurs transfer news: Tottenham leading race to sign Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon
The Mirror (h/t Sun) reports that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon.
The 18-year-old English youngster hasn’t had a great season for the Cottagers this season with just two goals and six assists.
Scott Parker’s team were relegated to the Championship after their loss to Watford, and the report claims that the 18-year-old is expected to leave the Cottagers in the summer.
The report claims that Tottenham were interested in Sessegnon last season but weren’t willing to pay the £50m that Fulham were asking for.
The Mirror (h/t Sun) adds that Tottenham could sign him on a cut-price deal as Fulham don’t want to lose Sessegnon on a free at the end of next season.
The youngster also posted an emotional message on Twitter claiming he would give it his all for the club but did not speak about where his future lies.
One of the brightest in England
Sessegnon was brilliant for Fulham last season as he helped them gain promotion under Slavisa Jokanovic.
The jump up to the top flight hasn’t gone well for most of the Fulham players and they even sacked Claudio Ranieri after replacing Jokanovic with the Italian.
Tottenham could do with some signings in the summer after going through two transfer windows without spending.
The 18-year-old has the potential to be a great player but needs to be under the guidance of the right manager.
