Spurs transfer news: Daniel Levy willing to spend £30million for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes
The Telegraph reports that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is willing to sanction £30million to sign Andre Gomes from Barcelona.
The Portuguese midfielder has been in decent touch for Everton this season after signing from the Catalans giants on loan.
The 25-year-old has played 24 games in the Premier League for the Toffees and has one goal and an assist to his name.
The report claims that Everton are “desperate” to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal, and Tottenham wanted to sign Gomes on loan in January 2018.
Tottenham’s chief scout, Steve Hitchen, was also present at Anfield to watch the 25-year-old in the Merseyside derby with Mauricio Pochettino being a fan of the midfielder, according to the report.
Gomes to make decision at the end of the season
Gomes wants to wait till the end of the season to make a decision on his future and does not expect a return to the Nou Camp, according to the Telegraph.
The report adds that Tottenham will look to strengthen their midfield in the summer after selling Mousa Dembele in the winter window.
Christian Eriksen’s future is also up in the air, according to the report, and the Dane hasn’t signed a new deal with the club yet.
