Spurs news: Dimitar Berbatov claims only mistake of new stadium is him not playing in it for Spurs

Dimitar Berbatov was one of the legends on show against Inter Forever last weekend.

The Bulgarian was part of the Spurs Legends side that played out a nine-goal thriller against the Italians, and it was a sight for all Tottenham fans to enjoy.

This was the second test event at the new stadium, and Berbatov was speaking about the experience of playing at the new ground to Betfair (h/t Football.london):

“I was lucky enough to play in Tottenham’s ‘Legends’ game last weekend and let me tell you something – the stadium is a work of art. Honestly, it’s one of the best in Europe.”

The former Spurs and Manchester United striker added that the stadium is perfect from a player’s perspective and added that a minus was him not being able to play their before:

“For me it was a pleasure to play there. I told Daniel Levy that the only minus is that it wasn’t there when I played for Spurs!”

The stadium is an advantage for Spurs

Tottenham haven’t signed players in two transfer windows but Berbatov believes that the stadium will help us attract top talent.

The former striker claimed the stadium is an advantage over other clubs and players would see the best facilities.

Spurs are yet to lift a trophy under Mauricio Pochettino, however, Berbatov was certain that silverware would be coming soon.
