Spurs news: Huddersfield manager believes Tottenham are a tougher team without Harry Kane
Tottenham return to Premier League action after their exploits against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Son Heung-min got the only goal of the game in the win over the Cityzens, however, Harry Kane picked up a serious-looking injury.
The Spurs attacker had to be substituted in the second half after a challenge from Fabian Delph.
Spurs face Huddersfield at the weekend and Jan Siewert, the Terriers manager, believes Tottenham will be difficult to play even without Kane.
Speaking before the clash Siewert added that Spurs play in a different way without the Englishman (h/t BT Sport):
“It’s interesting because it definitely changes them.
“With him they play in different shapes and when he didn’t play they had other shapes. In a way it makes it more difficult.”
Spurs were great without Kane early in 2019 with Son in excellent form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Spurs need to pick up the wins
The Champions League win will be a boost for the remainder of the campaign as we are in a battle for the top four spots.
Spurs are fourth in the table having one game in hand on third-placed Chelsea. Our next Premier League game after the Huddersfield tie is against Manchester City at the Etihad.
We also play the Cityzens in the second leg Champions League quarter-final after the Huddersfield game, and these games could decide our fate in the league standings.
