Spurs transfer news: Tottenham to watch Bolton youngster Luca Connell
The Sun reports that Tottenham are one of eight Premier League clubs set to watch Bolton Wanderers youngster Luca Connell at the weekend.
The 17-year-old midfielder has played nine games for the 23rd placed team in the Championship this season, and the report claims that several requests regarding the youngster have reached Bolton.
The Republic of Ireland youth international has also interested Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton (h/t Sun).
The report adds that Brighton and Southampton saw bids rejected for Connell in January while Watford, Leeds and Spurs have all kept an eye on the rising talent since making his break into the first-team.
A player with a bright future?
The youngster started his career as a full-back before being pushed into the midfield. The 17-year-old also was pleased with playing first-team football (h/t Sun):
“When you walk into training and see the older ones – even the Under-18s – you think ‘I want to be playing there.’ But then when you are at my age now and playing first-team football it’s a dream come true.”
The 17-year-old could be another star in the making and Bolton seem set for relegation from the Championship.
Connell needs to play regular first-team football to develop and it will be interesting seeing if he is on the move in the summer.
The youngster should be sent out on loan should a top Premier League club sign him. Keeping him in the reserves won’t help him reach his potential.

Tottenham haven’t signed any players for two transfer windows, and that has to change once this season ends.
