Spurs transfer news: Spurs ready to make cut-price move for Sessegnon
Tottenham have the edge in the race for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon, purely due to the pulling power of Mauricio Pochettino, report The Sun.
The teenage sensation has been on the radar of Tottenham ever since he broke into the scene at Craven Cottage. After Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed, he has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, while Borussia Dortmund would take him on a free transfer at the end of next season if he runs his contract down, claim The Sun.
But Fulham don’t want to lose Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer next season and would be willing to cash in on their prized asset when the transfer window re-opens. Spurs are ready to pounce on the 18-year-old, hoping to get a cut-price deal over the line.
And as the report adds, Pochettino is expected to play a big role in signing Sessegnon as our manager has promoted the academy starlets and nurtured young players ever since his arrival in north London. The Argentinean tactician has continued to put faith in youth by promoting Oliver Skipp to the first team this season.
Sessegnon’s stock has understandably fallen following Fulham’s relegation after he was once rated at a staggering £50million. However, The Sun reports the 18-year-old wants to spend one more season at Craven Cottage in the Championship and move for free in the summer of 2020.
Spurs should go for Ryan Sessegnon
Whether Fulham cash in on Sessegnon at the end of the season or decide to run down his contract, Spurs should go all out to sign him this summer. His speed, creativity and movement will give our attack more punch, whilst adding defensive cover to the team.
Plus, the teenager has now Premier League experience as well which should prompt our gaffer to make a move for Sessegnon in the summer.
