Spurs transfer news: Barcelona set €20m asking price for midfielder Andre Gomes
Calciomercato reports that Andre Gomes is unlikely to be a Barcelona player for long time.
The Portuguese midfielder joined Everton at the start of the season on loan, and has done a decent job at the Toffees.
The report adds that the Toffees have an option to sign the midfielder permanently at the end of the campaign.
Although Everton are considering taking up the option, Barcelona have set a €20m asking price for Gomes, according to Calciomercato.
The report adds that Lazio, AS Roma and Inter Milan are interested in the 25-year-old and could spend €20m for his services.
Tottenham also interested in the midfielder
The asking price for Gomes seems to be affordable for Tottenham too. The Telegraph had reported that Daniel Levy was willing to splash €30m for the midfielder.
The Telegraph further claimed that Spurs wanted to sign the former Valencia man on loan in 2018 and have kept an eye on him ever since.
Gomes joined the Catalans from Valencia but struggled to perform at the club. The midfielder was in the Portuguese side that lifted Euro 2016 but didn’t really do much in that tournament either.
The report added that Mauricio Pochettino admires the Barcelona midfielder and the club watched the Portuguese in action when Everton lost to Liverpool this season.
