Latest Spurs news: Son Heung-min upset at missing Ajax clash next week

Tottenham star Son Heung-min is upset at missing out on the first leg Champions League semi-final against Ajax due to suspension.

The South Korean was one of the stars in the game against Manchester City at the Etihad and scored two goals in that tie.

However, the attacker will watch the first leg from the stands at our new stadium and added he would be positive for the clash (h/t Evening Standard):

“Of course, I’ll try to be positive, but missing this semi-final makes me so sad.”

The South Korean added that he is disappointed at missing the game but believes the team can get the right result:

“I’m so disappointed. I’ll probably be more nervous watching in the stands than when I play. But I trust my team, I trust my players and I trust this stadium, so I’m not worried about it.”

The South Korean should play at the weekend as we face West Ham in a London derby.

Tottenham need to be wary of Ajax

Ajax won’t be easy to face having defeated Juventus and Real Madrid, but we are yet to concede a goal in our new stadium.

The Dutch giants have been one of the bright sparks in the Champions League, but we should have enough in the team to get one over our rivals.

Son missing for the first leg would be a blow given that we are without Harry Kane too. However, this has been a special Champions League campaign by Spurs, and it should continue for a couple of more games as we aim to reach the final.
